Su Jin, an ordinary office worker from modern Earth, dies in a convenience store robbery and transmigrates into the body of a cannon fodder supporting female character in a cultivation novel titled The Great Female Lead’s Cultivation Ascension Record. She awakens in the Su Family’s Liuyun Pavilion, surrounded by her adoptive family: Madam Su, her two older brothers Su Chen and Su Ze, and the adopted daughter Su Xinrou. The family demands she surrender a spirit beast egg she possesses, claiming it is worthless and that Su Xinrou desires it. Su Jin realizes she has become the tragic figure destined to lose everything to the novel’s protagonist, Su Xinrou, who eventually steals her resources, destroys her cultivation, and throws her into the Myriad Beasts Abyss to die.
Refusing to repeat the original host’s fate, Su Jin confronts her family, exposing their hypocrisy and the years of abuse she endured. When Su Ze attempts to seize the egg by force, she defends herself with a bronze shield, sustaining severe injuries but surviving. She reveals that the egg is actually a Phoenix Egg, a divine beast treasure concealed by an ancient restriction. Recognizing that she cannot contract it due to her low cultivation and lack of protagonist halo, she decides to flee the Su residence immediately. She escapes through the estate’s main gate by forging her father’s orders and slapping the guards, then hides in an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of Biluo City.
While scavenging for supplies in the abandoned mansion, Su Jin discovers a fixed teleportation array. Anticipating pursuit, she activates the array and throws explosion talismans at the core to hinder her pursuers. The blast severely injures Su Chen, who arrives too late, breaking his meridians and soul. Su Jin arrives at the other end of the array, finding a cave filled with spirit stones and a herb garden—opportunities originally intended for Su Xinrou. She harvests the resources and proceeds to a nearby town called Bishi Town, disguising herself as a poor cultivator to avoid detection. She learns that Su Xinrou possesses a unique intuition that can sense when her opportunities are stolen, prompting Su Jing’an to take Su Xinrou on a hunt to recover what was taken.
In Bishi Town, Su Jin navigates the local market while being tail by greedy cultivators. She seeks tools to dig up a jade pendant space, another major opportunity from the novel located near Su Xinrou’s birth mother’s grave. The pendant contains a dimensional space with a spirit spring, alchemy room, and mountains of treasures. Su Jin plans to intercept this opportunity before Su Xinrou can claim it, securing her own path to survival and revenge. The Su family, enraged by Su Chen’s condition and Su Xinrou’s distress, launches a full-scale search for the runaway daughter, setting the stage for further conflict as Su Jin moves to secure her golden finger.
