Jiu Jiu is a naive Crow Spirit from the Demon Race who possesses the Power of Word Spirit, allowing her words to manifest reality. Tricked by her clan elders into undergoing a Tribulation Crossing in the mortal world, she is transmigrated into the body of a four-year-old cannon fodder girl. This girl is the illegitimate daughter of Xiao Jiuyuan, the Crown Prince, who is known as a disabled, short-lived figure destined to die early in the original novel. Upon arrival, Jiu Jiu is hungry and disoriented, stumbling upon Xiao Jiuyuan, who is consumed by murderous intent due to past betrayals. Mistaking him for a potential servant because of his handsome appearance and the dark aura surrounding him, she latches onto his finger. Her reckless declaration that she will help him overthrow the Emperor triggers Heavenly Thunder, which strikes both of them. She is subsequently identified as the Crown Prince’s daughter and brought before him.

Xiao Jiuyuan is initially cold and dismissive, having been poisoned and crippled five years prior. He intends to send Jiu Jiu away to the Eldest Princess’s residence to remove her from his life. However, Jiu Jiu discovers that Xiao Jiuyuan is suffering from a complex poison involving Gu insects and dark magic. In a chaotic sequence of events, she accidentally cures him by using her spiritual abilities to extract a blood-red worm from his chest and neutralize the toxins. This act restores his ability to walk, shocking his loyal guards and the royal physician, Old Lion. Despite saving his life, Jiu Jiu is annoyed that her new servant is actually her biological father, whom she considers useless. She asserts dominance over the Donggong estate, commanding rats to punish servants who bullied her original body and establishing herself as the true authority in the household.

The central conflict escalates as Jiu Jiu navigates the treacherous imperial court. She identifies the original heroine, Luo Mingzhu, known as Fu Bao, as a calamity star who siphons Qi Luck from others, specifically from Xiao Jiuyuan, which explains his early death in the novel. During a flower-viewing banquet hosted by the Eldest Princess, Jiu Jiu sabotages the Fourth Prince, a rival of her father, by lacing his wine with a laxative and aphrodisiac, causing a public scandal. She then discovers that the Eldest Princess is being deceived by dark magic; a fake pregnancy potion is being prepared to conceal her infertility. Jiu Jiu intervenes, destroying the potion and revealing the truth to the Emperor. This action saves the Eldest Princess’s life and exposes the conspiracy orchestrated by Fu Bao and her allies.

As the story progresses, Jiu Jiu’s presence begins to alter the predetermined fate of the characters. She forms a reluctant alliance with her father, teaching him strategies to survive the political intrigues while secretly working to protect him from the fate that killed him in the original story. Her demonic powers and cunning nature allow her to outmaneuver various factions within the palace. The narrative follows her efforts to dismantle the schemes of Fu Bao, who seeks to maintain her stolen luck at the expense of others. Jiu Jiu’s ultimate goal is to cultivate her power to become a Great Demon, but she finds herself increasingly invested in the well-being of her dysfunctional family and the stability of the kingdom. The story moves toward a confrontation with the Heavenly Dao and the original plot’s antagonists, as Jiu Jiu refuses to accept the tragic endings assigned to her and her father.
