Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad!

Mo Xuchen is the cold and ruthless president of Hantu Group, a man known for his untouchable demeanor and busy schedule. One August night, while leaving his office, he is suddenly embraced by a filthy, tattered young man named Ji Yunzhi. He wanders the streets, surviving on scraps and scavenged food, until his path crosses with Mo Xuchen again. After waiting outside Mo Xuchen’s company in the rain, Ji Yunzhi collapses from exhaustion and hunger. Mo Xuchen, unable to ignore the boy’s plight, has him taken into the car and brought to his home, Jinsé Bay. There, Mo Xuchen’s friend and doctor, Su Yuyan, examines Ji Yunzhi, noting severe head trauma and old injuries consistent with a past accident. Despite Mo Xuchen’s insistence that he is not the boy’s husband, Ji Yunzhi remains fixated on the title, viewing Mo Xuchen as his provider and protector.

As Ji Yunzhi recovers, a strange domestic dynamic forms. Mo Xuchen, though outwardly cold and impatient, finds himself caring for the boy, ensuring he eats well and stays out of trouble. Ji Yunzhi, unaware of Mo Xuchen’s reluctance, interprets his actions as those of a devoted husband. He learns that his name is Ji Yunzhi and that he is nineteen years old. Mo Xuchen, seeking to resolve the situation, has Chen Qi investigate Ji Yunzhi’s past. The investigation reveals that Ji Yunzhi belongs to the wealthy Ji family, having been lost as a child and only recently reunited with his relatives. Mo Xuchen decides to send Ji Yunzhi back to his family, believing it is the best course of action for both parties. On the day of his departure, Ji Yunzhi is quiet and somber, clutching Mo Xuchen’s hand in gratitude before leaving.

Upon returning to the Ji residence, Ji Yunzhi is met by his "brother," Ji Tian’en, who feigns shock and relief at his return. However, Ji Tian’en harbors dark secrets. Two weeks prior, he had attempted to kidnap Ji Yunzhi to pay off a gambling debt, resulting in a car accident that left Ji Yunzhi with amnesia and brain damage. Believing Ji Yunzhi dead, Ji Tian’en was terrified to see him alive. Now, seeing an opportunity, Ji Tian’en manipulates the naive and trusting Ji Yunzhi. He pretends to be a caring brother, gaining Ji Yunzhi’s trust by feeding him and offering affection. Ji Yunzhi, desperate for connection and food, readily accepts Ji Tian’en’s kindness, unaware of the betrayal.

Ji Tian’en’s true plan is revealed when he takes Ji Yunzhi to a seedy bar called "Nocturne." He lies to Ji Yunzhi, claiming he owes a massive debt and needs Ji Yunzhi to work there to help him pay it off. Ji Yunzhi, eager to help his "brother" and secure his own place, agrees without hesitation. The bar manager, aware of Ji Tian’en’s scheme, prepares to exploit Ji Yunzhi’s innocence. Ji Yunzhi is tasked with selling expensive drinks to clients, but the nature of the work quickly becomes apparent as customers make unwanted advances. When Ji Yunzhi expresses discomfort and hunger, Ji Tian’en abandons him, cutting off contact and blocking his calls. Left alone, hungry, and terrified in the unfamiliar and hostile environment, Ji Yunzhi breaks down, crying for his "husband" and realizing he has been deceived. The story ends with Ji Yunzhi in a state of despair, far from the safety and stability Mo Xuchen had inadvertently provided, setting the stage for a rescue or further conflict.
