As the rain begins, Shen Ruoran activates her Management Points, creating a protective barrier that keeps her building dry and safe while the outside world floods. She recruits her neighbors, Zhou Qing and Bo Zhiya, as employees and tenants. Zhou Qing, a skilled cook and nanny, and Bo Zhiya, an anime-loving youth, accept her offer to work in exchange for rent, entering a system where labor is converted into currency.
