Lin Ran is the legitimate eldest daughter of the Dingyuan Marquis Mansion, born to a mother from the wealthy Shen merchant family. After her mother dies in childbirth complications and her maternal grandfather passes away from grief, Lin Ran finds herself increasingly vulnerable.
