Li Sang is a transmigrator who finds herself in a world formed by the merging of several post-apocalyptic novels. Li Sang then directs the team to recruit a second individual, Ji Lin, a fried rice stall owner who has recently awakened superhuman strength and a unique metabolism that allows him to survive in extreme environments. Ji Lin initially believes he is ill and seeks medical help, but his condition is misdiagnosed as psychiatric. Li Sang’s team locates him at a hospital and confronts him with knowledge of his physical changes, including his craving for rotten food and his enhanced strength. After a brief physical demonstration where Ji Lin effortlessly subdues one of the agents, he agrees to listen. Li Sang explains that he, too, is a person of significance chosen to help combat the impending disaster. Ji Lin is informed that his abilities make him nearly immune to the environmental hazards that will follow the comet’s impact, positioning him as a crucial combat asset for the state’s survival strategy.
