Alex, an 18-year-old high schooler, lives a seemingly ordinary life with his loving mother, Monica, and his bubbly 7-year-old sister, Maria. His father, John, a dedicated soldier, visits them once every two months, bringing joy and stability to their home. Life feels normal, even predictable—until one fateful day changes everything.

A chilling message from the army headquarters announces that John has survived a devastating plane crash but is gravely injured. Rushing to his side, the family finds him confined to a wheelchair. As Monica speaks with the doctor about taking John home, her composure remains unusually calm, even… happy.

Back home, the day winds down. After dinner, Alex retreats to his room, hoping to distract himself with a chat among friends. But when Monica steps into his room, something shifts. She moves closer, her arms enveloping him in an unexpected embrace. Silent tears stream from her eyes, falling onto Alex’s cheeks, carrying a weight of unspoken emotions and an unshakable mystery.

What lies behind Monica’s strange reaction? What secrets are buried in their seemingly perfect family? Each page unravels a story of love, loss, and a truth that could change Alex’s life forever.

Seems interesting for now. Reminds of that other novel in a more modern setting where the system would take over the MC to do some kind of heroic acts.

I am so engross in this is an extraordinary work of creativity.. It draws one in and gets one trapped.. I am trapped. I can't wait to see how Ken will end with his dual nature ànd the author has done well to lay good background to raise the curiosity of any beta reader.I love this...Kudos to this amazing author.

So I came here for a review swap and wasn't sure what to expect going into this book. I recently got out of my Books with Systems phase and was quite tired of all the systems that were A) cute, fluffy but utterly useless and B) cold, mechanical, calculative and just using the mc for its gain (and the mc that is given no choice but to obey albeit unwilling). Imagine how elated I was when here comes a system that HELPS the mc. Even if Genesis doesn't give out impromptu missions like a game (I like this), just the originality of the borrowing system sold the story to me. Plot wise, I have nothing to say. 5 stars. The author was more focused on character development than world building in the first few chapters but luckily it didn't drag on for too long. Mysteries and more Genesis scenes prompted me to not skip-read, and I'm glad I didn't.The MC is smart, hilarious and the way his system functions is definitely the most unique one I have ever read. The only problem is sometimes the past and present tenses get mixed up and I get confused. All in all, this is an intriguing and interesting story. If the grammar errors can be corrected, I will rate it perfect stars. Best of luck author!
