Lin Feng, a twenty-one-year-old cake shop owner from Earth, spent his childhood and adolescence enduring the torment of being labeled a "madman" by those around him. This persistent mockery shaped his adult personality, driving him to maintain a cold, indifferent exterior while secretly vowing never to lose his sanity. One day, while working at his shop near the ocean, he suddenly finds himself transported to an unfamiliar, dense forest. The environment is immediately hostile, filled with the sounds of explosions and the scent of burning grass. Upon investigating the source of the disturbance, Lin Feng encounters a three-meter-tall gorilla made of silver metal. Instead of fleeing, he engages in a staring contest with the mechanical beast, a tactic he learned from wildlife documentaries, and successfully intimidates it into retreating. However, his relief is short-lived as more metallic animals appear, including bears, leopards, and tigers, along with a flying mechanical bird. A slender man with silver hair and cold silver eyes emerges from the group, introducing himself as Commander Ixus. Ixus mistakenly identifies Lin Feng as a female due to his slender build and soft features, a misidentification that sets the tone for their complicated relationship.

Lin Feng is taken aboard Ixus’s spaceship, the Lucky, which resembles a massive UFO. He is brought before Ixus, who has the ability to transform into a giant silver lion. The crew, consisting of Ixus and his subordinates Lan Yi and Lan Er, reveals that they are part of the Interstellar Alliance. During a recent battle with interstellar bandits on a remote mining planet, the crew rescued a newborn snow leopard cub, which is now orphaned and starving. Ixus, despite his cold demeanor, feels a strange responsibility toward the creature and orders Lin Feng to raise it. Lin Feng, confused and desperate to return home, accepts the role of caretaker in exchange for the promise that Ixus will help him find a way back to Earth. The cub, whom Lin Feng names Ice Cream, immediately bonds with him, treating Lin Feng as a surrogate mother. This dynamic forces Lin Feng into a domestic role that contrasts sharply with the militaristic environment of the ship.

As Lin Feng adjusts to life on the ship, the gender confusion escalates. When Ice Cream demands milk, Ixus initially misunderstands the situation, asking why Lin Feng, whom he still believes to be female, is not breastfeeding. Lin Feng angrily corrects him, asserting his maleness, but Ixus remains unconvinced due to Lin Feng’s physical appearance and the results of a medical examination by the ship’s doctor, Moqi. Moqi, a quirky green-haired young man, determines that Lin Feng’s biological markers are ambiguous, leading Ixus to officially classify him as a "shemale" in the ship’s records. This classification humiliates Lin Feng, who struggles to assert his identity in a world where human norms do not apply. Despite the confusion, Ixus begins to show unexpected protectiveness toward Lin Feng, treating him with a mix of authority and care. He allows Lin Feng to stay in the officer’s quarters and even shares the bed with him, though Lin Feng is initially terrified by Ixus’s lion form.

The relationship between Lin Feng and Ixus evolves as they spend more time together. Ixus, who is trying to avoid an arranged marriage with a woman from the Bai family, finds solace in Lin Feng’s company. Lin Feng, in turn, begins to rely on Ixus for protection and guidance in this alien world. He undergoes rigorous physical training under the supervision of Lan Er to become stronger, while also learning to handle weapons. During one training session, Lin Feng accidentally discharges a powerful firearm, shocking himself and Ixus. This incident highlights his vulnerability but also his determination to survive. Meanwhile, Ice Cream grows rapidly, developing teeth and an interest in the ship’s weapons, which worries Lin Feng. The story concludes with Lin Feng fully immersed in his new life, balancing his duties as a caretaker with his desire to return home, all while navigating the complex and growing bond with the cold commander who has become his unlikely protector.
