Luo Xingci dies a horrific death after being sold by her own family to three elderly bachelors in a remote mountainous region. For five years, she endures relentless physical abuse and exploitation, eventually being beaten to death and discarded in the wilderness. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovers she has been reborn into her eighteen-year-old body, the day before her family executes the plan to sell her. The transition is immediate and violent; as her grandmother, Luo Laotai, and stepmother, Wu Haixia, attempt to force her into labor, Luo Xingci instinctively defends herself, slapping her grandmother and brutally beating her stepmother with a shoe. The family is stunned by this sudden change in her submissive demeanor, suspecting she is possessed by a vengeful spirit.

Refusing to accept her fate, Luo Xingci seizes a kitchen knife and chases her grandmother and stepmother through the village, publicly accusing Wu Haixia of infidelity and moral corruption. The accusation sparks a scandal, as neighbors gossip about Wu Haixia’s behavior and her quick remarriage after her first husband’s death. Luo Xingci uses the chaos to her advantage, retreating to a dilapidated, haunted house at the edge of the village that no one else dares to enter. Inside, she discovers a mysterious spatial dimension connected to a system known as Old Six. This space contains a fully stocked shopping mall, modern appliances, and a fitness center, providing her with resources and the means to physically strengthen herself for the battles ahead.

While exploring the mountains near her new hideout, Luo Xingci accidentally cuts her hand, and her blood activates the system, granting her access to its vast inventory. She begins to stockpile food, medicine, and tools, including rat and snake poison, which she uses to terrorize the Luo family. Under the cover of darkness, she releases snakes into her father’s room, rats into her grandmother’s room, and insects into her uncle’s room, causing panic and injury among the abusers. The Luo family, terrified and confused, blames her for the attacks but remains unaware of her location. Meanwhile, Luo Xingci’s six-year-old half-brother, Luo Jiapeng, who has always been kind to her, searches for her and eventually finds her secret base. He pledges his loyalty to her, bringing food and information from the Luo household.

Luo Xingci begins to systematically dismantle the Luo family’s wealth and reputation. She raids their home, stealing hidden cash, grain, and valuable items, and smashes furniture that cannot be carried away. She ventures into the black market in town, disguised and protected by her space, where she sells wild game and high-quality goods to a contact known as the Skinny Monkey. The money she earns allows her to plan for a future independent of the Luo family. Her actions escalate as she confronts her father and grandmother directly, physically overpowering them and exposing their hypocrisy in front of the village. The Luo family, desperate to regain control, plots to sell her to a violent, wealthy man’s simple-minded son, intending to drug her into submission. However, Luo Xingci’s grandmother reveals a dark secret: she had swapped her own son with a wealthy family’s child at birth, a deception that connects her to powerful figures in the city. As Luo Xingci continues to build her strength and resources, the conflict between her and the Luo family intensifies, setting the stage for a final confrontation where she intends to make them pay for every year of suffering she endured.

It is an okay story for sure. It is still super early on but every chapter seems to get better. I didn't have a moment that I hated, but I did have several that I found enjoyable. Honestly I feel like you either like it or you don't?

Only finished until chapter 4, and I'm dropping this novel now. I'm too old for this kind of writing, I probably would've enjoyed this in my teens but now, I'll gladly pass.

Objectively speaking, it's not a good novel. There are way too many descriptive parts, especially at the beginning and some dialogues with natives are a bit naive. Still, I totally love the setting and I believe that it will become better with time! Please, keep up the good work, author!
