Su Wu is a transmigrator who arrives in a parallel world Earth on the brink of a global apocalypse. Possessing prior knowledge of the coming disaster and equipped with an Apocalypse Survival System, he immediately liquidates his assets, selling his coastal apartment and collecting compensation money to fund his preparations. He relocates to Jianghe City in central China, renting a suburban farmhouse courtyard to construct a high-tech underground shelter from scratch. The system grants him survival points for completing tasks and upgrading technology, allowing him to transform ordinary scrap materials into advanced machinery. His initial focus is on creating an engineering robot equipped with specialized mechanical arms, including a high-energy smelting laser emitter, which serves as the foundation for his automated construction capabilities.

With the engineering robot operational, Su Wu accelerates the construction of essential infrastructure. He manufactures a geothermal generator to ensure a stable power supply, bypassing the government's strict electricity rationing, and builds a massive 10km drilling machine to access deep underground heat sources. The project requires significant resources, leading him to purchase large quantities of cement and scrap steel through black market channels and barter trades. As he builds, he expands his construction team by creating unmanned mini excavators and transport vehicles, which operate autonomously under the control of an upgraded laptop running a basic artificial intelligence named Luo Tianyi. This automation allows the shelter construction to proceed efficiently without manual labor, even as external temperatures begin to rise dangerously.

The narrative shifts as the apocalypse manifests through extreme climate events. A sudden heat surge in Africa’s Great Rift Valley kills millions, and tsunamis devastate coastal cities, triggering a global emergency. The federal government issues mandatory evacuation orders, urging citizens to move into official shelters. While the public panics and scrambles for safety, Su Wu remains calm, having already completed the first two levels of his underground sanctuary. He establishes a hydroponic farm on the first level, designed to produce rice, vegetables, and fruits year-round, ensuring long-term food security. The second level includes living quarters, a control center, a machinery manufacturing hub, and extensive storage for supplies and rare materials.

As the heat on the surface climbs to lethal levels, Su Wu finalizes his shelter’s defenses, reinforcing walls with steel and installing advanced air purification and central air conditioning systems. He trades surplus mini excavators with other preppers in exchange for more steel and scrap iron, further fortifying his position. The story highlights the growing disparity between those prepared for the disaster and the general population, who are forced into overcrowded official shelters or perished in the initial waves of climate catastrophe. Su Wu’s journey transitions from frantic preparation to steady survival, as he monitors the collapsing world outside while maintaining his secure, self-sufficient underground environment, poised to endure the coming years of extreme heat and societal breakdown.
