Ye Qingning was a ninth-level space ability user in a post-apocalyptic world, constantly hunted by the Zombie King and betrayed by other survivors. After a fatal ambush by a coalition of high-level ability users seeking her gold, she attempted a self-destructive attack but was instead pulled into a parallel dimension. She awoke in the body of a young girl named Ye Qingning in Svastika Country during April 1940, inheriting a powerful life-type space ability originally belonging to a woman named Yiren. This new space contained vast farmlands, orchards, and storage facilities, but her combat abilities were reduced to level one, and she could no longer retrieve her crystal cores.

Realizing she was in a parallel version of history, Ye Qingning decided to return to her homeland, Hua Country, to find her family. She used her spatial abilities to gather supplies, gold, and weapons while navigating the turbulent pre-war and wartime Europe. She hitched rides with military convoys, traveled through Windmill Country, Blue Country, Romance Country, and Mist Country, systematically looting banks, museums, and military supplies. Her primary goal was to accumulate wealth and resources to support her future family and establish a strong foundation upon her return.

During her journey, she encountered several overseas Chinese students, including Wang Linqi, Ning Yunzhi, and Zhou Mingxuan, who were returning to Hua Country to join the resistance against Japanese invasion. Ye Qingning provided them with significant financial aid and medicine, helping them purchase supplies in Merlion Country before continuing her voyage. She also collected vast amounts of gold from various European nations, including a large gold mine in Overloaded Country and treasures from banks in Romance Country and Blue Country.

Upon arriving in Shanghai, Ye Qingning found a city rife with poverty, foreign concessions, and criminal activity. She stayed in a brothel to avoid lice and gathered information about local loan sharks and corrupt officials. She discovered that many of the city's financial groups were controlled by foreign powers and engaged in the opium trade. Using her spatial abilities, she began targeting these enemies, planning to dismantle their operations and reclaim wealth that had been extracted from Hua Country.

Ye Qingning's strategy involved using her child disguise to move freely while employing her spatial perception to locate and confiscate gold and valuables.
