Xia Sisi awakens in terror, convinced she is being drained of blood, only to realize she has been reborn three months before the apocalypse. Recognizing the need for protection and companionship, Xia Sisi adopts Da Hei, a retired military Doberman with a severe back injury. Despite his size and fierce appearance, Da Hei is intelligent and loyal. He saves her from a harasser at a pet store, earning public respect and revealing his status as a meritorious police dog. Xia Sisi sells her parents' apartment below market value to liquidate assets quickly and rents a 200-square-meter top-floor suite in a 66-story building. She reinforces the apartment with bulletproof glass, metal bars, insulation, and coal stoves, ensuring it can withstand the extreme weather and potential intruders.

While stockpiling food, supplies, and dog provisions, Xia Sisi confronts her past enemies. She meets with Zhao Ying, a former classmate who provides evidence of Lin Yi and Hao Rou’s affair. Instead of causing a public scene, Xia Sisi uses psychological warfare.
