Apocalypse Arrival: Little Zombie, I Just Hoard, Hoard, Hoard!

Xu Duoduo is a twenty-two-year-old intern at an internet company in K City. She is an orphan who was adopted and later moved into her current apartment after her adoptive parents passed away. Despite her young age, she is a dedicated survival enthusiast who has quietly stockpiled food, water, and equipment in her home due to past epidemics. On a routine work evening, she receives a text message warning that people around her will turn into zombies in three minutes. Initially dismissing it as a prank, she notices her colleague Sister Liu exhibiting strange symptoms, including pale skin and a putrid odor. Trusting the warning, Xu Duoduo flees the office just as Sister Liu attacks others. She escapes home, stocks up on groceries, and discovers she has acquired a multifaceted storage space resembling a Rubik’s Cube, which allows her to store and preserve unlimited supplies.

The apocalypse begins with a zombie outbreak caused by a mutated rabies virus. News reports confirm the incident at her former workplace, and Xu Duoduo receives a digital survival guide that predicts global disasters, electromagnetic storms, and human evolution. She spends the night cooking and preserving food, utilizing her storage space to secure her survival. As the situation deteriorates, society collapses within days. Power and water fail, and her residential complex descends into chaos. Xu Duoduo remains isolated in her apartment, avoiding contact with other survivors who eventually turn violent. However, she discovers she has also turned into a zombie. Unlike normal zombies, she retains her consciousness and intelligence, though her speech is limited to guttural sounds and her cognitive processing slows down.

For twenty-five days, Xu Duoduo waits in her apartment, unable to eat or drink. On the twenty-sixth day, a military rescue team from the 3A Special Operations Squad arrives to clear her building. The team leader, Qin Luo, recognizes Xu Duoduo as his former middle school class monitor. Instead of killing her, he notices her unusual behavior and intelligence. He wraps her in a blanket and takes her with him, suspecting she is a unique case of an evolved zombie. During the journey to the survivor base, the squad encounters mutated animals, including a giant elephant, which they defeat. Qin Luo reveals he has evolved lightning-based abilities, while his teammates possess other mutations.

The squad discovers a large warehouse of canned goods. Xu Duoduo demonstrates her spatial ability by storing the entire supply into her dimension. This revelation shocks the team, as spatial abilities are extremely rare. They realize her value as a mobile storage unit and decide to keep her secret. Xu Duoduo proves her loyalty by sharing her pre-apocalypse food supplies with the team, including hot congee and side dishes, which boosts their morale. The squad members, including Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei, accept her despite her condition, treating her with a mix of respect and camaraderie.

That night, the group faces a new threat when infected survivors turn into zombies inside the factory. Simultaneously, a horde of mutated monkeys attacks the building. Xu Duoduo fights alongside the squad, using a chainsaw and throwing weapons with surprising accuracy. Her agility increases at night, and she manages to survive the chaotic battle. After the fight, Qin Luo obtains an Aberrant Core from the mutated monkey king. Xu Duoduo feels an intense hunger for the core, sensing it might provide sustenance or power. The story ends with her hesitating before the core, torn between her remaining humanity and her new zombie instincts, as the squad watches her reaction with anticipation.
