Su He, a thirty-year-old successful but lonely woman from the modern era, falls asleep after binge-reading a novel and awakens in the body of a obese, gambling-addicted wife in a rural setting reminiscent of 1970s or 1980s China. She finds herself in a dilapidated mud house with two malnourished children, a boy named Zaizai and a girl named Niuniu, who are terrified of her due to the original owner’s history of abuse and neglect. Upon waking, Su He discovers she has access to a Material Exchange System, a high-tech space where she can trade items from her world for goods in this one, provided she earns points through exchanges. Initially uninterested, she quickly realizes the system’s utility when she learns the children have not eaten in over a day and the house is devoid of food because the original owner mortgaged everything to pay gambling debts.

Using a starter credit of one hundred points, Su He purchases food, milk, and supplies for the children, immediately beginning to repair the damaged relationship with them. She learns through their hesitant responses and a subsequent dream sequence that reveals the original owner’s memories that she has transmigrated into a novel she read previously. In the story, the children are destined to become villains: the son, Fu Hanzhi, is killed in a fire, and the daughter, Fu Xinyi, is sold abroad. Their father, Fu Tinghua, is a renowned military doctor and the novel’s antagonist, who is currently stationed at the border and has cut off contact with his family due to his mother’s disdain for Su He. The original Su He had driven away her in-laws, gambled away her husband’s subsidies, and lived in squalor, leading to the family’s isolation in this remote village.

Determined to alter the tragic fates of the children and secure a stable life, Su He commits to cleaning the home and providing proper care. She takes the children up the mountain to gather firewood, where they discover rare mushrooms that the system values at fifty points each. This discovery reveals a viable path to earning income. Su He hires a local villager to help carry the wood, offering meat as payment, which helps improve her standing in the village and counters the negative rumors spread by neighbors who dislike her family. A neighbor, Aunt Niu, brings her vegetables, establishing a tentative social connection that contrasts with the hostility of others, including Fu Tinghua’s mother, Wu Yanhua, who despises Su He for ruining her son’s reputation.

Recognizing the economic potential of the system, Su He invests her remaining points to rent a guidance robot that can scan for valuable items within a ten-mile radius. During a second mountain expedition with the children, the robot detects an endangered bird’s nest containing eggs worth five hundred points each. This breakthrough confirms that Su He can generate significant wealth to support her family and eventually move them back to the city. The narrative focuses on her immediate efforts to stabilize the household, nurture the children’s emotional well-being, and exploit the system’s resources to overcome the poverty and social ostracization left by the original owner, all while navigating the complex family dynamics involving her absent husband and his hostile relatives.

the author is shamelessly writing about nothing. The premise might sound funny or interesting but, I managed to push through 19 chapters and found nothing. Every chapter keeps repeating the tree wants to stay still but, the wind blows. This was garbage and whoever wrote this scam should feel bad.
