Yan Zheng, an inner-transmigrator and apprentice of the legendary Yue Lao, enters the body of a mute woman married to Si Yueting, the cold CEO of the Si family. Through her inner monologues, she critiques their poor life choices and tragic fates, which they begin to hear, causing confusion and fear.
At a high-society auction, Yan Zheng encounters Lu Xizhou, a playboy from the rival Lu family, and Si Yueting. She defends Si Yueting’s honor against Lu Xizhou’s provocations, claiming her husband is robust and capable of fathering children soon, which flusters Si Yueting. Yan Zheng also bids on a rare red jade pendant, a item significant to her master, only to be outbid by Gu Yingxin, the fake Gu family daughter.
