Lin Banxia, the only legitimate daughter of the Lin family, survives a poisoning attempt orchestrated by her stepmother, Xie Yueru, and her biological father, Yang Yiming. Escaping with the help of her loyal uncle, Ming Shu, she witnesses the destruction of her grandparents' home in a fire that kills them. Six years later, Lin Banxia returns to Yincheng from Canada, where she has raised twin sons, An An and Mo Mo. Her return is triggered by news that Yang Yiming is publicly mourning Ming Shu, who was severely beaten during her escape. Upon her return, Lin Banxia crashes the wedding of Lin Yiyao, the woman posing as the Lin family's legitimate daughter, to Shu Chengyun. During the ceremony, she exposes the fraud and disrupts the event, drawing the attention of Zhan Jingting, the powerful and reclusive president of Junsheng Group, who was attending on behalf of his grandfather. Zhan Jingting is intrigued by Lin Banxia, partly because she carries a faint scent of traditional Chinese herbs that reminds him of a mysterious woman from seven years prior, a night when he was drugged and spent six hours with an unknown woman. After the wedding chaos, Lin Banxia escapes pursuers by jumping into Zhan Jingting's car, creating a tense encounter before he orders her to leave.

Lin Banxia's twin sons, who are child prodigies, secretly travel to Yincheng to find their father. The older twin, Mo Mo, is a genius hacker, and the younger, An An, is skilled in medicine. They infiltrate a business meeting at a private club, where Mo Mo hacks the computer of Zhan Jingting's competitor, Liu Xinzhong, causing the presentation to fail and securing a victory for Junsheng Group. The twins then approach Zhan Jingting, claiming to be orphans who need help. Charmed by their resemblance to him and their innocent act, Zhan Jingting takes them into his home, the Yuzhu Villa. He begins to suspect they are his children but waits for confirmation.

Meanwhile, Lin Banxia confronts Yang Yiming and Xie Yueru at their villa, revealing that she has sold the property and forcing them to vacate. This move displaces the antagonists and shifts the power dynamic in the Lin family. The twins, now living with Zhan Jingting, contact their mother to inform her of their location and their decision to recognize Zhan Jingting as their father. Lin Banxia is alarmed by this development, fearing Zhan Jingting will use the children against her or take them away. She rushes to Junsheng Group to negotiate, but Zhan Jingting deliberately avoids her, leading to a public misunderstanding where Shu Chengyun mistakenly believes Lin Banxia is interested in him.

Zhan Jingting eventually receives DNA test results confirming that the twins are his sons. He decides to keep this information private for now but begins to open up to the children, allowing them to call him "Daddy." Lin Banxia attempts to retrieve her sons from Zhan Jingting's villa but is blocked by his security. The twins, however, are comfortable with their new father and resist leaving. The story establishes a complex triangle between Lin Banxia, Zhan Jingting, and the twins, with Lin Banxia determined to expose Yang Yiming's crimes while navigating her growing connection with the powerful Zhan Jingting, who is now a key ally and potential father to her children.
