Upon activation, the System bound her to a new identity in a Conan-style world, specifically Mihana Town in Tokyo. She opened a small, rundown snack stall across from Teidan Elementary School, selling egg pancakes and ice cream. Her goal was simple: earn enough JJ Coins through her shop to upgrade her living conditions and maintain a peaceful existence. However, her quiet life was immediately disrupted by the arrival of the Detective Boys—Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta—and the brilliant elementary school student Conan Edogawa. Conan, possessing the mind of a adult detective trapped in a child's body due to the Black Organization, immediately viewed Qianben as suspicious. His instincts, honed by years of hunting the Organization, flagged her as a threat despite her harmless appearance and friendly demeanor.
The core conflict arises from two parallel tracks. On one side, Qianben struggles with the economic realities of her new life. Her shop earnings are meager, and she is frequently dragged into police investigations, missing prime business hours. To supplement her income, she decides to write a novel based on her past experiences in the Infinite Horror Game and submits it to an online platform. Her writing proves successful, attracting an editor and a wealthy fan who sends her enough money to finally upgrade her shop. On the other side, her hidden past catches up with her. She receives calls and emails from a man named Gin, a high-ranking member of the Black Organization. Misunderstanding their interactions, Qianben assumes Gin is her boyfriend, while Gin views her as a new sniper recruit assigned to him by the Organization's Boss. He is suspicious of her unpredictable behavior and lack of formal training records, ordering her to a secret VR training facility to test her lethal capabilities.
At the training facility, Qianben reveals herself to be an exceptionally skilled sniper, surpassing even the Organization's elite agents like Chianti and Korn. She treats the lethal simulations with the casual detachment of a gamer, a trait that unsettles Gin but confirms her value as an asset. Meanwhile, her daily life continues to intersect with Conan and the Detective Boys. She befriends Ran Mori and Sonoko Suzuki, and her shop becomes a hub for the children. A key turning point occurs when she encounters Ai Haibara, a fellow child who is actually the defected scientist Sherry. Qianben recognizes Haibara's resemblance to the woman in a photo Gin sent her, prompting her to inform Gin. This act of assistance cements her role within the Organization's orbit, even as she remains oblivious to the true nature of the group she is associating with.
The story further develops through a series of murder cases that Qianben inadvertently witnesses. In one instance at a publishing house, she solves a cyanide poisoning mystery alongside Conan, offering a deduction that surprises the young detective. These incidents highlight her dual nature: a casual snack vendor by day and a cold-blooded killer by training. The narrative tension builds as Conan grows more suspicious of her, sensing a darkness that contradicts her cheerful exterior, while Qianben remains focused on her immediate goals of financial stability and navigating her confusing relationship with Gin.
