In honor of the first anime adaptation, a character popularity poll held to pick a character to write a short story for. Results showed overwhelming support for Megumin resulting in the author writing his third spin-off for the series. A story featuring Megumin, Iris, and Yunyun taking place between volumes 9 and 10.
