There used to be different worlds, filled with different races, with different technologies, with different times, and with different purposes. Then one day, a voice range out among the stars.
"My dearest sentients, you all are so very far apart. It is all so dreary. How about we play a game?"
On each and every one of these worlds. A tower arose. Then one by one, disasters fell. The stars grew cold, and the oceans froze. The lands rumbled with dissatisfaction. The dying embers of heat came spewing from the cores of the planets. There was only one beacon of hope. Standing on each and every planet. The towers offered a way out of the world. To someplace new and different.
Now there is only the tower.
