I have enjoyed the story so far but there is one thing that constantly pulls me out of the immersion. "Spoilers" His father's willingness to kill him after only two weeks because his little brother didn't adapt to be the heir instantly and went against his will. No other forms of punishment or exile just have him killed. Then the lukewarm response from everyone when they find out what happened. "You possibly murdered your son and stole his abilities for the other son how dare you! No, I just had him killed by leaving him to die. Oh, that's okay then." "My poor son is dead, but after blowing up at my husband once, I still miss my son but get all lovey dovey on my husband whenever I see him. Even if you say he is a family leader who has to be strict to protect humanity, the fact that not a single character seems to more than mildly disagrees with him and even reveres him just feels jarring.
