In a captivating tale, Linda, an innocent researcher from a prestigious Japanese maritime university, stumbled upon a provocative encounter in her dreams - a merman's assault. Intrigued by this mythical encounter, Linda decided to delve into the study of these enigmatic creatures. Collaborating with her knowledgeable professor, Gary, they embarked on an expedition at sea in pursuit of answers. Their journey led them to capture a merman, but in an unexpected twist, Linda found herself marked as its potential companion. The question remained: Was it humanity capturing a mermaid, or was it a merman claiming its prey in this extraordinary encounter?

I just came across an eerily similar story on ReadInk. I read this version first so I couldn't get past the first few chapters on the other one. 'The Merman Who Craved Me'

Author does an excellent job of steamy scenes, although it would be nice to read the male lead’s point of view. Female lead, Linda can be a bit frustrating, but keep in mind that she’s viewing male lead and mermen from a sheltered academic viewpoint.
