The Mafia's Captured Slave

The mafia boss spoke in a menacing whisper, "I can't let you go." Then, he abruptly retreated, leaving me frozen in place. Gathering my courage, I softly queried, "What do you want from me?" My hazel eyes met his piercing blue gaze as I swallowed nervously. He raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident. "You claim not to have witnessed Ashar's death?" He gestured toward the laptop resting on the coffee table. Steadying myself, I approached the table and crouched down for a better look. To my dismay, my heart sank. On the screen, I saw myself – clad in black, standing outside the garage, clearly visible. A wave of perspiration trickled down my forehead as I stared at the shocking truth. It couldn't be real, yet there I was, entangled in a web of trouble. "Oh dear God, why?" I silently cried inwardly. This was my pathetic existence, and I felt like giving in. The captured slave of the mafia, my fate sealed.
