In a serene forest, a wolf's haunting howl echoes through the trees. For a brief moment, the forest holds its breath, a hushed stillness descending. But then, nature springs into action. Every creature, from tiny lizards and toads to mighty brown bears and agile mountain lions, flees in panic. Spiders race to safety on their webbing, birds take flight, squirrels dart between branches, and deer and elk leap over obstacles with wide-eyed fear. Even the lone wolf hesitates, tail tucked, before joining the exodus. The wind stirs, rustling leaves and making the tall pines creak. Roaring hoofbeats and paw prints reverberate through the woods. As the commotion subsides, the forest gradually returns to its peaceful rhythm. The wind softens into a gentle, warm breeze, and the wildlife resumes their daily routines – foraging, napping, or grazing. Once more, the wolf's call resounds. Amerie, seeking a new beginning in a small Montana town, starts to rebuild her life and chase her dreams. However, when a person vanishes in the woods, the once-idyllic community becomes gripped by fear. Some locals whisper about the old tale of the Wolf Man, believing the mysterious creature is behind the disappearance, avenging the forest's mistreatment. Disbelieving but curious, Amerie joins search parties, only to stumble upon a shocking encounter with a massive, white wolf. In this chance encounter, the secrets of the forest, long hidden, reveal themselves to her, far beyond what she initially expected.

Not sure how to change my review, so just adding another. I still stick by not being a fan of Jaz at all. The story is good but it’s going at a very slow pace. I feel like I could skip some chapters, save my coins and still be able to understand what’s happened.

Also, reading about mating with a woman that's pregnant with her alpha's babies (while being mated to his Beta) should have been explored more. Because there's no way that Alex should have been ok with that. Not just the trauma, but from being a wolf, who is naturally possessive.
