This is a fan-fiction based on Aternus' excellent work The Arcane Emperor. I'm grateful to him for his permission to write using the rich, complex world and characters he has created. Please read his story first - it's good.
The Arcane Seeker starts as does The Arcane Emperor: Rainer, a college sophomore and amateur arcanist, tried to create a spell to walk through walls. In his first attempt, rather than walking through a sheet of cardboard, he was thrown through space and time to a world with levels, fantasty monsters, stat screens, and very real danger. He does not understand what happened, or where he is. But Rainer is an Arcanist - a powerful class that means this strange world is a place brimming with opportunity as well as danger.
Unlike the cannonical Rainer of Aternus' work, this Rainer, as a teenager, took up fencing rather than piano as a hobby. A small change, but a small change in the beginning can lead to big changes in how a story goes...
The first chapters will closely mirror the first chapters of The Arcane Emperor, before heading off in a different direction altogether.
