Wow, this chapter really took the tension up a notch! Ada’s excitement about finally having enough money, only for her brother to ruin everything, made my heart ache for her. Stephen is such a frustrating character, and yet I can feel Ada’s love for him despite his recklessness. The way the author builds suspense—starting with the uneasy phone call to Ada’s realization that something is very wrong—was masterful. The descriptions of the club, the intimidating bouncers, and the high-class atmosphere contrasted so well with Ada’s struggles. And then that cliffhanger? Now I HAVE to keep reading!
