Samual Kalkin is a former Yakuza assassin. He is also a Berseker, with more than human strength and speed. After being imprisoned by the US Government and used for entertainment in death match fighting, he escaped and lived off the grid for years. He hates the Earth and almost everything about it. When given a chance to escape through an inter-dimensional gate, he jumps at it. What could be worse than continuing to live on Earth?
Kalkin wakes up on Gaea, caught in the middle of a magical ritual. He is bound by Power as the Geasa-Slave of Maya, an abused teenage girl living under a death sentence, because she cannot control her own Power. Kalkin is given the choice of awakening his own Power or dying.
