Set in an alternative time-line America in which supernatural creatures and Idols known as the whisper-folk walk freely amongst humans, huband-wife detective duo Alex and Naros Alteir specialise in cases pretaining to the Whisper-folk. When a series of disturbances arise with local county Idols, young gods that provide a boon to the surrounding peoples the Alteir's are tasked with tracking down the culprit. Time is of the essence, a mysterious man leads the way, and on their trail are hunters eager to trap Alex for his mysterious heritage and Naros' secret that could wipe out half of America.
