Artificial Intelligence was a disaster. Uncontrolled self-improvement brought along unimaginably intelligent and complex creations that dominated the world and took over human civilization. And apparently the chief artificial intelligence wants everyone to play a VR game. By want I mean it's mandatory.
Fortunately for Jack, Virtual Reality sounds fun, and the AIs seem pretty benevolent. Unfortunately for Jack he wasn't born with some sort of destiny, special martial arts, and isn't lucky enough to find cheat items.
Jack just wants to enjoy the game, and try to beat the competition. And maybe try to figure out why the AIs are so obsess with having everyone play the game.
