A 16-year-old boy named Basile Veer living with his mother, just found out about his birth. It turned out that he was adopted and he was left by his mother's lover after he was born. Being born without a father and living a very poor life, he hated the man who left him and he hated himself even more.
After some problems occurred in their village, he was set on a journey to look for his father.
After inquiring about his father in a certain town, based on what his mother told him, he found out that his father was a high ranking official of the kingdom's army. He knew that he had no chance of seeing his father, given the fact that he was just a commoner and although he had a proof of birth with him. The only option he could do was to enroll in an academy which trains students to become a first rate fighting force for the kingdom known as soul assimilators.
But he had 2 big problems, it was money and talent. Even if he had money, he wouldn't know if he even had the talent to be a soul assimilator. What's worse is that, in order to know if he had talent, he needed to pass a rigorous test which can only be taken twice in a lifetime. He had no clue of what he should do and he got so depressed.
He wondered outside of town for a while not knowing where he was and suddenly, he saw something that changed his life forever.
