Since the show is done, and there is plenty of content to write from, this idea should be pretty easy and accessible for just about any writer. Of course, there has to be some form of goal or endgame the MC is working towards. I suppose you could make it Brennan, or a better ending for the series. You could also fix some of the more odd parts in the original writing of the show, like how Brennan suddenly desires a child out of nowhere. My knowledge of the plot has worn away with time, and I'm not willing to binge the entire series just to brush up on its nuances.
