The 2020s have come and gone, with advancements in most fields. There was a base on the moon for a while, then an asteroid happened. We fixed teleportation, after someone researched where socks actually go when they disappear from the washing machine. Computers continued to evolve, turns out you only needed to ask the electrons nicely to stop tunneling. The one thing we didn't manage to build was nanobots. Until now. But nobody expected it to go like this (except a couple nerds but who cares about them)
