It had been the primary reason why Celia had insisted he come in her stead. She had a reputation to uphold, and apparently John didn't have any such reputations. While Madam Victoria prided herself and her employees on discretion, it didn't stop her clients from bumping into themselves at the entrance. Celia had described the Madam of the establishment as regal in stature and nationless, thanks to the ornate mask that covered her face. Even her eyes were hidden, preventing anyone from piecing together her nationality. It was done intentionally, of course, so her clients could feel more at ease.
