Emma Green is an antique collector, buying and selling items on the Internet in hopes of making a profit or finding something interesting to add to her extensive collection. On the other side of the U.S., a man puts a listing on eBay. "Certificate of Ownership for your very own Human Male Soul. I don't believe in any sort of God, nor that what we call a 'soul' actually exists. To the highest bidder."
If you've read the title, you already know what happens. Two hours after purchasing it, Emma dies in a freak accident. Turns out God is not okay with that, and gives her a choice. Stay in Purgatory, or do a little job for him in a certain fantasy world. Which will she choose?
