Web Novel as the name says is something posted by the author on the internet on his own, Light Novel is content created by the author but produced and marketed by a publisher. That's why some things in the stories, when they become Light Novels, tend to change to make them more attractive to readers in general and it's an opportunity to change something that the author didn't really like in the Web Novel.
