–“Soaring in the sky 10,000 meters high, I am with you, so don't be afraid.”

It's about planes landing on the ground, and also about love descending into the heart.

Gentle yet domineering star pilot x a bit stubborn and principle-driven air traffic controller

Chen Jiayu x Fang Hao

Three years ago, Chen Jiayu piloted Flight 416 during a severe engine incident, maneuvering an Airbus A330 full of passengers to a safe landing on the longest runway at Hong Kong International Airport with harrowing speed.

Known as the most successful crash landing in civil aviation history in a decade, his achievement made him a household name, but it also became a nightmare that haunted him for years. He thought that he had used up all his good luck in Hong Kong three years ago. Then, he met Fang Hao.

Fang Hao, who likes to be in control and holds the record for directing the most flights in a single hour at Daxing Airport, handling countless special and risky situations without batting an eye. However, upon encountering Chen Jiayu, he found himself losing control.

I am quite dissapointed.I mean I slogged through 1000+ chapters. I came for mech building/design with system but for past 700 chapters I've instead been watching a glorified technician making foolish decisions then justifying them with some frankly ridiculous logic and the pseudo version of the 'Dao' that is the design philosophy. MC also has standard Chinese MC trait of licking the governments ass at every opportunity even when they do everything they can to manipulate/screw him over (they literally shot him to stage an assassination and MC was pissed off for all of 1 paragraph then he's back to lick lick lick). Honestly without plot armour, MC would not have survived the first.MC also gives me whiplash on how his morality and feelings for others change. First he treats his Vandal colleagues like trusted comrades, then next second they are just *mere* numbers to be thrown into the meat grinder. He also seems to make all these 'deals' that never seem to favour him. Every accomplishment/gain must be follwed by a monumentous **** up, ominous portents or some inherent problem with the gain so its not much of win at all. MC has shown classic traits of psycopathy but is still emotionally attached in the strangest of ways. His family pretty much abandoned him at the start, the government has been more of a hindrance than any help, but he is still strangely patriotic. On the other hand, the skill shown in writing is pretty much top-tier as original novels in this place go. For a heavily re-skinned xianxia, author has put in quite a bit of thought as far as world building goes as well. This is my personal gripe but it would be a lot better if it were't for all the chinese euphemisms and writing style. Borrowing ideas and concepts is one thing, but writing a supposed western space opera as if one were actually translating a chinese fic is another.

I love stories like this. I love transhumanism and futurism and this story gives a lot of it. The characters are fairly good, if sometimes inconsistent. The story itself was very promising in the beginning, but lately I’ve been feeling that the author has been nerfing and intentionally retarding the story for the sake of aimlessly running around in circles with redundant storylines...hell sometimes I fell that Dax is becoming a secondary character at this rate. Also I feel conflicted with the cover art, I always imagined Dax as more...’inhuman’, I don’t hate it, but my Dax was always somewhat of a blend of a Turian from Mass Effect and a Human-ish figures - kinda like a fleshier turian, with digitigrade legs and all. Also the Empire seems to be using very technologically disparate equipment, they posses nanotech that’s on the level of flipping magic and can’t get widespread DEWs and relativistic KKVs up and running by using that nanotech.
