Layla spoke softly yet resolutely, "It's time for us to end it." She couldn't endure the situation any longer. Their marriage, a mere facade, had been built to fulfill her late father's final request. Despite her once hopeful belief that love could conquer all, the return of Nate's ex shattered her faith. Layla felt that she should have always been by his side, as she believed she held a special place in his heart. The fact that he had never touched her throughout their marriage, she thought, might have been a testament to that.
