Arieon shouted at him, her voice filled with emotion as tears streamed down her face. She panted heavily after racing down the stairs, clearly upset. Enzo responded angrily, warning her, "You could hurt yourself, please be cautious!"
She shot him a fierce glare and retorted, "The only harm I'll endure is from you, so stay away!" Disbelieving, he rolled his eyes and continued down the stairs, determined to chase after her.
With each step he took towards her, Arieon retreated, backing up until her back hit the wall. In her mind, she silently cursed. Enzo smirked, victory evident as he gently touched her chin, forcing her to look at him.
"Darling, you're the light in my life, both you and our unborn child," he placed his hand tenderly on her belly, causing her heart to skip a beat. "Stop running away from me," he whispered, leaning in closer.
When their eyes met, he grinned and said, "I won't let you escape, Arieon."
