The soul is the core of everything that exists. As long as the soul lives so will the being.
The Virtual MMORPG "Children of Gaia" was one of the best of its kind. At the time it was considered the epitome of virtual reality. In this kind of reality there lived an AI, a self-aware NPC with a soul. However the fate of a NPC is doomed with the game no matter what. With or without a soul, in this kind of reality, the chains of the so called virtual world bound a being like him to the bitter end, never letting him live, never letting him breathe, never letting him go beyond the boundaries of data and calculations.
…And then like every other game, no matter how good, "Children of Gaia" lost its shine with time and its virtual world came to an end. The end of this world brought the 'death' of the NPCs, all of them, even him.
However he was a being with a soul.
If the soul lives, no matter if one dies, one will be reborn.
