There was once a samurai warrior of an uprising clan, and near the dawn of Japanese feudalism, in the late 1100's, this great warrior led a winning battle against an enemy clan, but disappeared. Without their greatest asset, the entire clan was soon destroyed; erased from history, burnt to the ground, and not a record left, but this person never truly died.
The warrior's fate led her far from Japan, and to another world - no, another place, a continent untouched by the eastern warriors, and yet so similar to Japan, lying half a world away.
