I should think the title says it all! But if not, this is a story about a tour guide living in a cursed Eastern European city known as Alkahestopol. She shephards the tourists who come looking to strike deals with various devilish figures through the streets for a modest income. For years she's survived by minding her own business and leaving her charges to various nasty fates - but one day she makes the fateful decision to lie for an American warlock she barely knows, and from there things rapidly fall apart . . .
