1970s: The Fierce Officer Falls Under the Spell of the Gorgeous Boss

Jiang Zhizhi, a decorated soldier from the twenty-first century, dies defending her country and awakens in the body of a nineteen-year-old girl in 1972 China. The original owner, the pampered daughter of a military weapons researcher, had succumbed to despair after her father was framed and her family faced social ostracization. Jiang Zhizhi immediately confronts the absurdity of her new reality when she discovers she is being set up for an arranged marriage with Cai Fang, the spoiled son of a regiment commander. The Cai family, along with the Qi family who had initially agreed to the marriage but later backed out due to interference from Qi Miao, are conspiring to exploit the Jiang family's vulnerability.

Jiang Zhizhi takes decisive action to protect her family. She secretly uses her spatial ability to hide all valuable documents, books, savings, and dowry items, leaving the house empty when a mob led by Liang Pei arrives to search and smash their belongings under the guise of investigating capitalist elements. When Liang Pei attempts to harass Jiang Zhizhi, she physically repels him with a powerful kick, causing him to injure himself on a broken table leg. Her childhood friends, Hu Hua and Chen Jianye, arrive with their grandfathers to support her, turning the confrontation into a public spectacle where Jiang Zhizhi demands compensation for the damaged property, forcing the attackers to pay up and write an IOU for the remainder.

Meanwhile, her older brother Jiang Wang, a battalion commander stationed in the north, learns of the incident through a phone call with his mother. Furious and worried, he confides in his sworn brother, Lu Xingchen, another elite battalion commander. Lu Xingchen reveals that his grandfather has influential connections that may help the Jiang family, offering a glimmer of hope. Jiang Wang's protective instincts are further highlighted as he worries about his sister's future, unaware that she has already proven her capability to handle the threats at home. The story sets the stage for Jiang Zhizhi to navigate the turbulent political climate of the 1970s, using her modern knowledge and spatial advantages to safeguard her family while preparing for a future where she may need to relocate to the countryside to escape the escalating persecution.
