1970s: The Capitalist Heiress Goes to the Countryside to Repair Tractors

Zhong Wanwan, a modern woman and skilled mechanic, dies in a fiery explosion orchestrated by her greedy second uncle, who seeks to steal her father's inheritance. On the train, Zhong Wanwan recognizes the setting from a novel she read before transmigrating, identifying the female lead, Bai Yueyao, as a "lucky koi" character who steals the Zhong family’s wealth in the original story. Determined to reclaim her destiny and destroy the heroine’s fortune, Zhong Wanwan resolves to interfere with every key event in the plot.

Upon arriving at Dongsheng Commune, the group encounters a broken tractor that the farm’s director, Wei, cannot fix. While Bai Yueyao attempts to bluff her way into a repair role by listing generic mechanical issues, Zhong Wanwan exposes her lack of practical knowledge. Zhong Wanwan then swiftly diagnoses and repairs the tractor, demonstrating superior technical skill. Impressed, Director Wei offers her a position as a mechanic and offers her twin brother a role as a tractor driver. Zhong Wanwan negotiates for her family to live in the secluded blue-brick courtyard of the former landlord’s estate, which includes a large underground cellar, rather than the crowded educated youth dormitory. She successfully repels attempts by Bai Yueyao and the male lead, Tang Zixuan, to claim the rooms, using political rhetoric to frame their greed as anti-socialist behavior.

Establishing herself as a valuable asset to the farm, Zhong Wanwan requests the establishment of a county repair station branch at Hongxing Farm and recruits two female apprentices, Wei Maisui and Zheng Nannan, to assist her. She also secretly teaches Zhong Songbai to drive the tractors, ensuring his employment and safety. With her family settled in a secure location, equipped with modern tools and supplies from her spatial dimension, Zhong Wanwan begins her counter-offensive against the novel’s original plot. She plans to systematically dismantle Bai Yueyao’s opportunities, starting with the upcoming harvest season, while protecting her brothers and preserving the Zhong family’s hidden wealth from those who would exploit it.
