Female antagonist, also known as Old Madam Shao, real name Xu Lanhua. The matriarch of the Shao family and mother of Shao Mingyi (deceased), Shao Mingyong, Shao Mingren, and Shao Mingjiao. She is greedy, cruel, and infamous in the village for quarreling with nearly every household. She mistreated her second daughter-in-law Ye Hanqiu, starving her and refusing medical care. She planned to bury Ye Hanqiu alive after her supposed death. She was beaten by Ye Hanqiu and later planned to use black dog's blood to drive out evil. She intends to divorce Ye Hanqiu and collect her deceased son's death compensation.
