A retired veteran of the Red Army, once at the rank of army commander. He lives in the southern residential compound with his son and daughter-in-law. He has an imposing presence that intimidated even Mu Youyou who had experienced the modern world. He initially worried his grandson was too cold but grew fond of Mu Youyou after she entertained him with childhood stories.
